2012 in Review

Holidays are past and it looks like we're in for a 'real' winter this year, so a good time to look back to 2012's successes to keep us motivated as we head into 2013!

Melanie Thomson, Donnegan and Team Thomson had a great season at Prix St. Georges gathering momentum and confidence through the season to finish on top of the PSG Open division at Cornerstone averaging 68% at the last show! Congratulations also on Donnegan's acceptance into the AHS studbook.

Susanne Menzies and Rumble achieved their long term goal of competing at Prix St. Georges and did so in style finishing on top of the PSG AA division at the last Cornerstone show, well done!

Janet Gowans and Aint She Sweet -aka Cilla- had a wonderful season, the last year of concentrated work really paying off, moving up to 2nd Level and finishing their season with a Reserve Championship and test average of 68%!

Sandro's Heir debuted with solid tests and great promise at Intermediare 2 achieving a 65% at each show and finishing with a 67.7%. Thanks to some super clinics and training with Lars Petersen, we are really motivated and looking forward to a good winter's work and the 2013 season.

Ontario Dressage Championships September, 2011
Annaliese and Lanes End Stable 4 year old Oldenburg mare Harmani (Harvard x Oldeander) concluded their first season of competition on a high note. The WON the 2011 Ontario Dresssage Championship title for Open Training Level! This mare will be one to watch with her calm temperment and elegance. Congrats!

Canadian Pan-Am Games Trials August, 2011
Annaliese and Sandro's Heir competed in the 2011 Selection Trials for the Canadian Pan-Am Team. They ended the 4 part series on a high note finishing 5th in the Intermediare I Freestyle. The trials selected the top 10 Advanced combo's in Canada to compete head to head. We are very proud of Annaliese and Sandro's Heir!

RCRA #2 CDN, July 29-31, 2011
Annaliese and Pangaea Farms Oldenburg Stallion Sandro's Heir, acheived the goal that was set by her and his owners 4 years ago when he was imported. They are fully qualified and have fullfilled the selection criteria, are in the top 10 Advanced Dressage combinations in Canada and are heading into the trials for a major games!!! They laid down a super PSG test Saturday at RCRA to have the 3 FEI Judges award them their final 5th score they required and qualify them for them to move onto the next stage of head-to-head trials!

Cornerstone's Spring Into Dressage CDN, June 3-5, 2011
Annaliese and Pangaea Farms Oldenburg Stallion Sandro's Heir (Sandro Hit x Castro) had another great show, laying down solid Advanced Level Tests. They finished with a 66.67% (3rd) and 65.70 (5th) from the 3 FEI Judges. Congrats to one of our longtime clients Sue Laverty of Lanes End Stables, her young Oldenburg mare (not yet 4) Harmani (Harvard x Oleander) went to her first ever show and calmly clocked off a 75.89% in Open Training Level with Annaliese!!! Harmani was started by Annaliese and has been under saddle for less than a year. Cecily Strutt's and Robert Bradshaw's Westphalian gelding Gaudi (Fidermark x Samber) finished 2nd, 4th and 5th in their Third Level Open Tests with scores up to 66.32. Students Melanie Thompson with her Canadian bred stallion Donnegan (Don Frederico x Walt Disney I) and Suzanne Menzie and her Holsteiner gelding Rumble (Rantares x Carthago) both dominated the top spots in Fourth Level! Mel had some super scores up to 68+ and Suz made a super debute at the level with multiple placings and scores up to 66+. Student Joanne Desautels also had great success with her 5 year old mare Summer Fling (by Prinz Habicht) with scores of 67+ at Training Level! Congrats to all of you ladies!

Milton Spring Classic CDN, May 20-22, 2011
Pangaea Farms Sandro's Heir (Sandro Hit x Castro) weren 4th in the PSG and 5th in the I1. Cecily Strutt's and Robert Bradshaw's Gaudi (Fidermark x Samber) finished 1st in Thrird Level Test 1 and 1st in Third Level Test 2!

Kawartha Spring Challenge CDN, May 1 -3 2011
Congratulations to Annaliese and the Licensed Oldenburg Stallion Sandro's Heir (Sandro Hit x Castro x Inschallah) who won the Open PSG at the KLDA Spring Classic! They finished with 65.97% from 3 FEI Judges and a 1st Place Ribbon! Cecily Strutt and Robert Bradshaw's Gaudi finished 2nd both days in Third Level Open!

Palm Beach Champions Cup CDI 3***, March 24-27, 2011
Sandro's Heir and Annaliese finished 9th in the I1 Freestyle CDI with a 65.425%, she also finished 4th with Gaudi in Third Level Test 3 with a 66.66%

Wellington Dressage Classic II CDI 3***, March 11-13, 2011
Sandro's Heir and Annaliese had another good show finishing with a 65.877% in the PSG, finishing 16th out of 62 (!), Can you tell it is a Pan-Am Year!

Palm Beach Dressage Derby CDI 3***, March 4 - 6, 2011
Sandro`s Heir and Annaliese finished an impressive 7th in a huge PSG CDI with a 68.42%, this great score gives the duo their first set of Canadian Pan-Am qualifying scores for entrance to the top 15 head-to-head trials that will take place in late summer!!!! They also had a 66.14% in the I1!

YAHOO! Annaliese and Sandro's Heir WON the large Prix St. George class with an impressive 70.789%!!! They also placed 4th in the I1 with a solid 66.04%, Congratulations, we are very proud of you A! She also placed 1st with Robert Bradshaw and Cecily Strutt's Gaudi in Third Level Test 2 wining the class with a 70.488%

Wellington Classic Dressage Holiday Challenge December 11-12, 2010
Annaliese and Sandro's Heir had a super first show in FL. The stallion was frisky in the PSG to finish 7th with a 65.66% and settled in on Sunday to finish an impressive 3rd place in a large I1 class with a super 68.29% holding their own against some nig-names US riders. Congrats A and Sandman, all of you hard work is paying off!

Big Winter Plans for Annaliese, Sandro's Heir and Gaudi! November, 2010
Annaliese and Sandro's Heir are packing their bags and will be heading south to Wellington FL, for November and December to train with Danish Olympian Lars Petersen at Legacy Farms to gear up for Pan-Am qualifiers in 2011.

We are excited to announce the new addition of Oldenburg colt Highlander to Providence Farm! He is sired by Annaliese's long time partner, Hanoverian stallion Harvard (Hohenstein x Carina (Cardinal)) out of the Oldenburg Vb.St.Pr. Sudorme (Dormello x Vb.St.Pr. Sudonne (Donnerschwee)). Video

Dressage at Devon CDI 3***, Devon PA September 28-October 3, 2010
Annaliese and the 8 year old Oldenburg stallion Sandro`s Heir wrapped up their debut Advanced season nicely with a top ten finish in the Intermediare 1 Freestyle, in a huge CDI Advanced division at the iconic Dressage at Devon. Congratulations on a wonderful season!

NEDA's Fall Festival CDI 3***, Saugerties NY September 14-19, 2010
Sandro's Heir and Annaliese had a wonderful show! In a large CDI Advanced division of 20 riders they placed in every class! 4th in the PSG, 2nd (!!!) in the I1 and 5th in the I1 Freestyle! We are very proud of them achieving such solid results at their 2nd ever Advanced CDI.

Ontario Dressage Championships, Bethany ON September 3-5, 2010
Suzanne Menzie's and Rumble became the Third Level Amateur Reserve Dressage Champions of Ontario. Annaliese competed Sue Laverty's Rio Nevosa to a 7.1 in the FEI 4 Year Old Class. Melanie Thompson and Donnegan had scores over 70% and Cindy Mark and Honey also had a great final show of the year. What a great way to end the year, congrats to everyone!!!

Cornerstone's Gold Summer Classic, Palgrave ON August 20-22, 2010
Annaliese and Gaudi debuted at Third Level with scores over 66%, Annaliese and Sandro's Heir finished 4th in the PSG and 5th in the I1 Freestyle with a 67.5%. Annaliese also showed Sue Laverty's Four Year Old gelding Rio Nevoso in Training Level Open to scores over 65% while Melanie Thompson and Donnegan had scores over 67% in Third Level Open. Congrats to all!

Sandro's Heir had another great show this time setting a personal best in the PSG, I1 and I1 Freestyle with all scores over that impressive 70% mark! Video
FEI judges awarded him a 70.00 in the PSG (3rd place), a 70.23 in the I1 (2nd place) and a 72.50 in the I1 Freestyle (1st place!!!). It was a large competitive division with over 25 horses and Sandro's Heir finished Advanced Division Reserve Champion. We are SO proud of him and Annaliese. Joanne Desautels and her young mare Summer Fling made a terrific debute at Gold Level Competition finishing Reserve Champion of the Amateur Training Level Division at Summer's very first show a very impressive feat!! Suzanne Menzie's and her super star Rumble dominated a large Third Level Amateur Field winning every class entered and the resulting Championship consistently scoring between 69.5-71+%!!!! Way to go Rumbie and Suz!!! Janet Gowans and Cilla showed well at First Level with scores over 64%. Annaliese and Gaudi finished Second Level Open Reserve Champion What a great show for everyone!

Blainville Dressage CDI***, Blainville QC June 18-20, 2010
Annaliese and the talented 8 Year Old Oldenburg stallion Sandro's Heir (Sandro Hit x Castro) debuted at their first Advanced CDI Competition were wonderfully consistent and improved each day! They received a 65% in the PSG (5th place), a 66.22 in the I1 (5th place) and a 66.33 in the I1 Freestyle (3rd place). These technical scores will qualify him for the Dressage Canada 2011 Long List and we are thrilled that he reached this impressive benchmark at his very first Advanced CDI!!!

Annaliese and Robert Bradshaw's Gaudi (Fidermark x Samber) took the Second Level Open Championship of the show with scores over 72%!! Lots of other Providence students had great results, Susanne Menzie's and Rumble finished out third overall in a large Third Level Amateur Division. Cindy Mark and Honey had a great show also consistently scoring between 64-66% at First Level. Melanie Thompson and her stallion Donnegan (Don Frederico x Walt Disney) finished Third Level Open Reserve Champions of the show!

Equivents Gold Spring Dressage Classic, Milton ON May 21-23, 2010
Annaliese successfully showed Cecily Strutt's and Robert Bradshaw talented gelding Gaudi (Fidermark x Samber) to the Second Level Open Reserve Championship at their first show of the season! Annaliese and Sandro's Heir debuted at the Advanced Level for the first time on the same day that his first foal was born!!! What a great day :) Sandro's Melody (Sandro's Heir x Capitol II) was born happy and healthy to the Desranleau Family, Congratulations!!!

New England Dressage Association’s Fall Festival September 11-13th, 2009
Annaliese and Sandro’s Heir culminated their amazing undefeated Fourth Level season by racking up another amazing THREE first place finishes at NEDA’s Fall Festival in Saugerties NY. The dynamic duo impressed the judges once again as Sandro’s Heir proved his ability, producing strongly consistent rides and sweeping all three Fourth Level classes entered. Comments from the judges included, “Super horse,” “Lovely team,” “Uphill, expressive and fluid,” “Handsome elastic horse! Lovely gaits.” With solid scores of 67 - 70%+, Sandro’s Heir even earned three “9’s” in one test for his canter tour! Pangaea Farms eagerly awaits the arrival of his first North American foal crop this coming spring and his debut on the small tour with Annaliese in 2010.

OHTA Championships September 5-6th, 2009
Congratulations to Annaliese and Esprit de la Danse who proved dressage girls can jump and won the Ontario Eventing Championships Pre-Training Division. We would also like to happily announce the sale of Dancer, who will go into further event training at Dreamcrest Stables!

Cornerstone’s Gold Summer Classic August 21-23, 2009
Annaliese and Sandro’s Heir claimed their FIFTH Fourth Level Open Championship this weekend continuing their 2009 undefeated streak!!! Sandro was in top form receiving a “9” on his collected canter and many compliments from the judges. Heather Down’s Riven (Rodero x ) was the First Level Open Reserve Champion with Annaliese with three scores of 70+! The elegant gelding put in a very solid showing. Beaulieu International Dressage Classic August 6-9th, 2009 Congratulations to Annaliese and 7 year old Oldenburg stallion Sandro’s Heir (Sandro Hit x Castro) owned by John Grills, who won their fourth consecutive Fourth Level Open Championship and set a new personal best score of 74%!!!

Congratulations to Annaliese and the 7 year old Oldenburg stallion Sandro’s Heir(Sandro Hit x Castro) swept their third consecutive Fourth Level Open Championship of the season!!! Sandro once again proved that he is able to balance his duties in the breeding shed as well as in the competition arena. Congratulations to Providence Farm students Casey Gange and King of the Road owned by Patti Reid, who finished Training Level Junior Champions and Janet Gowans and Ain’t She Sweet who are placed well. Another wonderful show for the team!
